My kennel is a small Breeding Kennel located in Newcastle 2 hours north of Sydney. I have been breeding quality Labrador Retrievers since 1990.
I do not breed many litters so advance bookings are essential.
I focus on sound true to English Type Labradors excelling in temperament and natural working ability that will fit in with any family.
All my own dogs have passed the stringent temperament and health test that Delta Society Australia requires for its Therapy dogs. Therapy dogs visit the ill, elderly and the children in hospitals and nursing homes. These dogs bring great joy and therapeutic benefits to many patients and hospital and nursing home staff alike.
I have bred the Black, Chocolate and Yellow Pedigree Labradors.
Australian Support Dogs Inc, a registered charity that raises and trains Assistance Dogs for people who have certain mobility disabilities, chose a Bragglabb dog for one of their Assistance dogs. They were so impressed with this first dog Jade, they purchased 2 more dogs from me for their program who are also successfully working in the program .
Many families have bought 3 generations of pups from me this tradition has been passed on to their children who are now buying their first Labradors from me, so the family tradition lives on.
I have trained friends and clients dogs for many years and hold a Certificate IV in Delta Companion Animal Services (formerly Behavioural Dog Training Certificate) run in conjunction with TAFE where only positive reinforcement is allowed.
I do not personally show my dogs, but choose to do obedience which the dogs and I totally enjoy - with some success.
I use the absolute best in temperament, soundness and type for my girls that being from Elizabeth Gent,Gunnislake Kennels. Ch Gunnislake Dumbledore is the current dog I am using, he has perfect hips and elbow scores (0.0 for hips and 0.0 for elbows) with a wonderful outgoing temperament that he passes on to his pups.
My Breeding stock have all been Hip and Elbowed Scored and DNA Test Clear for Progressive Retinal Atrophy.(PRA).I only use dogs that have had their Hip and Elbows scored by the Australian Veterinary Association and have been DNA Test Clear for Progressive Retinal Atrophy.(PRA) Meaning that the off spring will be clear by Parentage.
My kennel is a family based kennel where my dogs live as part of my family in the house and are raised with children who know how to handle them. I aim to breed dogs for the family environment so they have lots of love to give.
My puppies are Registered with The Royal NSW Canine Council Ltd (DOGS NSW), Microchipped, will have had their 1st C3 Vaccination and leave home with a Diet and Care Chart along with their own personal History Booklet and a week supply of food and Heart worm prevention.
I focus on early learning because a puppy’s first eight weeks are a time of tremendous growth and development. Early learning experiences have profound implications for later success in life. From birth to eight weeks is the time when the greatest changes, physically and behaviorally take place and a time when basic personality is shaped. Behavior is never entirely inherited or entirely acquired. It is developed under the combined, interdependent influences of hereditary and environmental factors. However, it can be guided and modified by the influence of experience. Therefore it is possible to modify behavior by modifying the environment through early conditioning and training.
Every experience a puppy has will stimulate neural development which results in brain development. As the brain develops, so does the learning ability which stimulates more neural development
During the first 8 weeks of my puppy’s life they are exposed to sound tapes, various surfaces and play equipment, they are social with children and adults in the safety of familiar surroundings with their siblings and guidance from their mother.
